1. Why this box exists

A change in body weight is a stress on the body. The scientific literature discusses how intense metabolic activity is accompanied by elevated oxidative stress and can affect sleep quality — and it is deep sleep that is the key phase in which repair and regeneration take place.

This box brings together three directions: metabolic body-weight research (Retatrutide), cellular longevity through telomere biology (Epithalon), and support of the deep restorative phase of sleep (DSIP). The logic is simple: if the body is changing, it needs time and resources to recover — and recovery happens at night, in the delta phase of sleep.

2. Retatrutide — a triple metabolic agonist

The next evolutionary step after tirzepatide. Retatrutide is a synthetic 39-amino-acid peptide that engages three receptors at once: GLP-1, GIP, and the glucagon receptor (GCGR). Where tirzepatide acts on two of the three, Retatrutide recruits all three — and it is the third, the glucagon receptor, that draws particular interest from researchers, since it is linked to energy expenditure and fat oxidation.

In the study by Jastreboff A.M. et al., published in The New England Journal of Medicine (2023), participants receiving Retatrutide within a phase 2 trial showed a reduction in body weight of up to 24.2% over 48 weeks. At the study's conclusion no plateau had been reached — the curve was still trending downward [1].

3. Epithalon — a peptide of telomere biology

A legendary longevity peptide developed in Russia by Professor V.Kh. Khavinson. Epithalon (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) is a tetrapeptide studied for its ability to influence telomerase — the enzyme associated with the lengthening of telomeres.

Telomeres are the protective "caps" at the ends of chromosomes. With each cell division telomeres shorten. When they become critically short, the cell stops dividing. Telomere length is regarded as one of the markers of biological age.

In studies by Khavinson and colleagues in animal models, an increase in lifespan of 10–25% was observed with the administration of Epithalon. In cell cultures, activation of telomerase and an increase in the number of cell divisions were noted [2].

In the context of this box, Epithalon complements the metabolic peptide at the level of cellular longevity: while Retatrutide is studied in the direction of changing body weight, Epithalon is studied in the direction of supporting cellular potential.

4. DSIP — a peptide of deep sleep

DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a nonapeptide first isolated from rabbit blood in 1977 by Swiss scientists. The name speaks for itself: the peptide is studied in the context of the delta phase of sleep — that deep, restorative phase in which the body sets its regenerative processes in motion.

After the age of 45 it is deep sleep that suffers first: a person sleeps enough hours yet does not feel rested, because the share of the delta phase shrinks. The scientific literature discusses the link between a deficit of deep sleep and accelerated cellular aging [3].

Within this box, DSIP holds an important place: quality deep sleep is the time when the body recovers. If metabolic activity is running intensely (Retatrutide) and the cells are in focus (Epithalon), deep sleep becomes the period in which recovery can proceed most effectively.

5. How the components complement one another

Three components — three levels: metabolism, cells, sleep.

ComponentResearch focus
Retatrutide 10 mgMetabolic body-weight research (triple GLP-1/GIP/GCGR agonist)
EpithalonCellular longevity: telomerase, telomeres, cell division potential
DSIPDeep restorative sleep: delta phase, nighttime regeneration

In the scientific literature each direction is studied separately. The box brings them together for researchers interested in a combined approach: change in body composition, cellular longevity, and recovery through sleep.
