Bacteriostatic Water (BAC Water) — 3 ml

Form: 3 ml vial
Storage: +2…+25 °C, protect from direct sunlight
Shelf life after opening: 28 days when stored refrigerated (+2…+8 °C)

What is bacteriostatic water?

Bacteriostatic water (BAC Water) is sterile water with the addition of 0.9% benzyl alcohol. Benzyl alcohol suppresses the growth of bacteria, which allows the contents of the vial to be used repeatedly over 28 days after first opening — unlike ordinary water for injection, which is intended for single use.

Why is it needed?

All peptides in the LONGIVIYA catalog are supplied as a lyophilized powder (dry lyophilizate). In this form the peptide is stable and can be stored for a long time at −20 °C. To prepare a solution, the lyophilizate must be reconstituted — and this is exactly what bacteriostatic water is used for.

Handling rules

  • One vial of BAC Water per peptide. Do not use a single vial to reconstitute different peptides
  • When reconstituting, add the water slowly down the wall of the vial; do not shake — gently swirl until fully dissolved
  • After reconstitution, store the solution refrigerated (+2…+8 °C)
  • Use the solution within 28 days
  • Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles

Recommendation

When ordering any peptide from the LONGIVIYA catalog, add BAC Water to it. Without it, the peptide cannot be prepared for use in research protocols.
